Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of heavy construction equipment and diesel-powered machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic and electrical systems, and a commitment to safety and quality work.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, trucks, etc.)

Perform routine maintenance and preventive service on equipment

Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures

Perform welding and fabrication for equipment repair (buckets, attachments, structural components, etc.)

Repair or replace engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other major components

Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
-
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards

Respond to field service calls as needed

Keep shop and work areas clean and organized
Skills
-
Experience with CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, or similar equipment

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Basic computer skills for diagnostics and recordkeeping

Fabrication experience is a strong plus
